Recolo Conference 2011
At Recolo we believe in thinking differently.
Recolo has been privileged to bring across from California, USA, two fantastic thought leaders in the field of neursopsychology to speak on the subject of:
‘Innovations in Neuroscience:
The vertical Brain - Implications for developmental disorders and sensory integration'.
Our speakers were Dr. Deborah Budding, Clinical and Forensic Neuropsychologist and Co Author of Subcortical Structures and Cognition, together with her colleague Dr. Dana Chidekel Neuropsychologist and author of Parents in Charge. Their talk gave great new and exciting insight about how the brain works and the implications for understanding neurodevelopmental disorders.
Attendees included clinical psychologists, educational psychologists, brain injury case manager, members of the legal profession, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and parents of children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
The conference was held at the inspiring and innovative Blue Fin Venue, located in central London, with views across the River Thames to St Paul's Cathedral and the Tate Modern.
There was fantastic energy and enthusiasm created during the conference, as well as great opportunities for networking - click HERE to see pictures of the day. Here are just a few of the comments we received as part of feedback:
"Thank you so much. I already understand my son, but now I can know why I do and more practically how I can help him. "
"A great day . Hope this is the first of many! "
"Brilliant, engaging speakers"
"great venue, beautiful building, wonderful lunch and inspirational speakers"
Did attendees feel that they had gained new insights that could be applied in their work from the speaker's content?
"To think 'bottom up' and not 'top down'. Need to think in terms of automatic - controlled continuum"
"The value of knowledge re sub-cortical structures. Value ++ of OT and neuropsych joint work. Value of learning individual neuro procedures for each child as a starting point and relationship issues. Validated all I have observed in clinical practice for 20 years and gave deeper understanding of intuition."
"Yes - understanding of brain circuitary, networks for interpreting neuropsychological findings. Specific issues relating to motor - cognition paradigm to reading and writing problems"
Thank you to everyone who helped to make this conference a success. Watch this space for future thought leadership events brought to you by the Recolo team!
