Dr Kate Scarff
Paediatric Neuropsychologist and Chartered Clinical Psychologist
Kate Scarff is a Paediatric Neuropsychologist and Chartered Clinical Psychologist. She has specialist experience in paediatric neuropsychology and works in the paediatric neuropsychology service at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. She has experience of working with children with a wide range of neurodevelopmental, neurological, neurosurgical or related psychological conditions. She has particular interest in understanding the factors that predict outcome for children with acquired brain injury, and how a positive cognitive and psychosocial outcome can be achieved. Her work involves assessment and intervention with children, their families and carers, and consultation to other professionals involved in their care.
Prior to this she has worked in other child and family services such as child and adolescent mental health services and paediatric psychology as well as adult neuropsychology.
Kate trained and obtained her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Oxford University where she now lectures in neuropsychology. Her doctoral dissertation focused on psychosocial adjustment of adolescents with brain tumours.
Kate is a member of the British Psychological Society and is registered with the Health Professions Council.
