Dr. Emma McGibbon
Clinical Psychologist
Emma is a Clinical Psychologist who has been working as a psychologist in the NHS for over eight years. She specialises in assessment of children who are experiencing difficulties in their development, learning and/or behaviour. She also works to support children and their families through direct work with them as well as liaison with schools and other relevant parties. She has worked both in local Child Development Services as well as in a specialist Neurodisability Service at Great Ormond Street Hospital, where she is currently employed.
Emma has a special interest in understanding the role of individual and family cultures in relation to a child's disability. She is currently involved in research looking into how being from a Bengali background influences understandings of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Emma is a member of the British Psychological Society and is registered with the Health Professions Council.
