Rebecca Ashton
Educational Psychologist
Rebecca Ashton trained and worked as a teacher, before qualifying as an educational psychologist in 2003. Since then she has been employed as a Local Authority educational psychologist, working with a wide range of children, families and school staff.
Neuropsychology has always been a particular interest for Rebecca. Her undergraduate dissertation was on narcolepsy, a sleep disorder. In 2010, Rebecca gained a postgraduate Diploma in child clinical neuropsychology.
Alongside her general school work, she now works specifically with children who have epilepsy and brain injuries in her Local Authority area.
Rebecca has close links with the educational psychology training course at the University of Manchester, including teaching input and helping to co-ordinate trainees' research. Rebecca has published a number of articles about her own research and practice. She is also a co-ordinator of the North-West Neuropsychology Network, a forum for professionals to share and develop practice.
