Manuela Sapochnik is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who has worked in clinical psychology services for the past eight years. Manuela has specialised in working with adolescents with traumatic early experiences and their families and schools and also in the use of psychological interventions to aid physical well being. Manuela trained in Clinical Psychology and Health Psychology at University College London and has undertaken postgraduate training in Systemic Family Therapy at the Institute of Family Therapy.
Manuela was previously the lead psychologist in an adolescent psychiatric clinic in Edgware Hospital and is now leading clinics for people suffering from chronic pain at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in central London.
Manuela has a keen interest in working psychologically with children and families to maximise well being and quality of life after traumatic illness, injury or life experiences. Manuela holds a strong belief in the interconnectedness of physical, emotional and mental health.
Manuela has written, lectured and taught on; working with young people with early trauma, cross cultural health psychology and transitions into adulthood for young people in care. She has been a visiting lecturer at University College London, University of East London and Middlesex University, and has been involved in postgraduate training for psychologists in Camden and Islington Mental Health Trust, Barnet and Haringey Mental Health Trust and the Tavistock Clinic London.
